April Kraft +

Hi ho, I have managed to get the Kraft + challenge for April done! Yay me! This month their is a colour palette and also a "recipe", and not as complicated as it sounds!

So, I dug out all the ingredients and found some suitable papers and of course my kraft background and came up with this:

I loved the addition of silver. I used a pretty silver flair from D-lish Scraps and also sprayed my tags with brushed pewter distress stain, which just looks like silver to me! The spray looks absolutely gorgeous on the tags, and I also did some splats using the spray.

As I like to do I included a Charms Creations star on my page, well it was the perfect colour after all! You can also see my twist of cotton and stamping here with the date stamp and some of the plus signs that I stamped around the page.

I love adding a splash of black and the black polka dot washi was perfect!

Well, that is all from me today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Charms Creations - Mid Month Challenge

Have you checked out the mid month challenge over at the Charms Creations FB group? It is a great one, all you need to do is be inspired by this board:

And who wouldn't be?! All those pretty butterflies and colours, and the gorgeous new Charms Creations that include printed wood veneer butterflies just finish the job off.

So this is what I came up with:

I found some perfect paper in my collection, from Studio Calico's Print Shop collection. The colours and even some butterfly paper were a perfect match. I also found some die cut butterflies from some Crate Paper and Studio Calico collections I had in my stash. I was pretty set!

Check out the title! Pretty sweet isn't it?! I have been playing with foiling and I think that I am in love! I am using the laser printer and laminator method and it works a treat (check out Jennifer McGuire's you tube videos if you want to see how it works). I even took it up a notch and did the title as a print and cut from my Silhouette software. So pretty!

Add in a few pretties to make a little cluster. Can you spy the D-lish goodies? The paper flower, Pink Fresh Studio chevron wood drop and coloured doily.

How gorgeous is this butterfly lollipop from Charms Creations. I just love that I could add a touch of orange to my page with this. I also used some punched out butterflies from the paper with some glass cabochons from D-lish Scraps to make some great extra embellishments.

Isn't this die cut butterfly the perfect addition?!  The colours and everything!

Throw in a few sequins and finish the page off! Sequins are a great way to add something extra to your page.

So that is my take on the mid month challenge. Why don't you have a go! Check out the shop here too if you want your very own Charms Creations with a pretty butterfly.

Off the Rails - April

Have you seen the two different (but similar!) mood boards up at Off the Rails Scrapbooking for this months challenge? They are both fabulous!

4.April option 2

Aren't they great?! That green is gorgeous, a favourite now that I have seen Wicked! Anyway, I decided to go with the bottom colour palatte, and I created this page:

Don't you just love how well my Charms Creations heart matched the palatte?! I think I can just about always find a Charms Creation to match my pages these days, but that could also be a reflection on the size of my stash!

And as usual there are some pretties from D-lish Scraps. The sequin bows are one of my favourites to use and there is always some great flair to find too.

The Journal It's are also from D-lish Scraps and are so versatile, I must admit to having a good stash of these too! And the enamel dots are from D-lish too.

It is really hard to see, but this new texture paste has a pearl finish and it looks fabulous! It is from Faber Castell and is from their Texture Luxe pastes. I have some gold paste too that I have to play with too! Can't wait to try it out.

What I have been up to...

So, we have almost finished our school holidays, and as usual it has gone way too fast and I haven't done anything that I really wanted to do. But I have spent some time scrapping, and that is not a bad thing!

Today I am going to share a page that I created mainly because I love the Dear Lizzy Serendipity and needed to use up some more of that gorgeous paper and also how beautifully it worked with a hot pink mini heavenly heart from Charms Creations. Mind you these are easy to add and co-ordinate with just about anything!

On my page is my gorgeous niece Alice and my middle girl Erin. We looked after the kids one weekend and took them to a local park for a run around and fun was had by all! Don't you just love the colours in this Dear Lizzy collection?! You may have noticed too a fair bit of D-lish goodness in there too, some of my staple embellishments these days!

Gorgeous little aster paper flowers, and I am loving these sticker labels and tabs from Teresa Collins!

Check out the cute resin butterfly! The perfect addition to a page about my sweet niece.

And there is that beautiful hot pink mini heart! I just love the spots on there too, it helps it stand out on the page.

Did you know that Charms Creations has put up a new mid-month challenge? This one is all about butterflies, make sure you go and check it out here and have a go.

Remember too that Charms Creations has a special deal on Fridays in the online shop here, if you need to pick some up!

So, that is it from me for now, but rest assured I am busily creating and will be back soon with some more shares!

Time for a Share

Well, I have now had a few articles published in Scrapbooking Memories, so I thought I should share these layouts here too.

The first article that I wrote was about using die-cut backgrounds and this is what I came up with:

It is a bit hard to see in this page, but the cut out stars are backed with metallic cardstock.

Really love how this one turned out. The graduated coloured paper behind the quote really gives it something. Although I must admit the first time that I cut this out I realised that I had two lines around the wrong way so the quote didn't read correctly! Lucky I found that before I finished it up and sent it off!!!

The next article was about repeating elements in your page design.

A fun page! Lots of repeated elements - spots/circles, arrows and colours too.

Well, it isn't hard to see the repeated hearts on this page! And look at that a Charms Creation heavenly heart on this one. And you might notice too that most of the pages have a fair bit of D-lish goodies on them too!

Well, that is all that I can share for now. But I will try and remember to come back and share them as I can.

Thanks for stopping by.

White With One - April

So, new month, new challenge for White With One. But this is also my last one with WW1, I have had such a wonderful time creating for this team and the new people on board will continue to inspire you too!

This month the colour is sand, and it was a little trickier than I expected!

ww1 sand

My page:

Now first up you can see my colour is probably a little pinker than the sample colour, and I am finding that depending on which screen I see it on it varies greatly too. The mist splatters are probably a closer match. Oh well!

I have used lots of D-lish goodies (I know, that is my usual line!), and also a gorgeous resin feather from one of our sponsors - Cycloneboonty_pl_goodies. Check out the rest of the teams fantastic pages here.

Don't forget to check out our sponsors too:

I hope to see you playing along too!

Scrap the Boys - April Challenge

So, being a new month and all, it is time for some new challenges! The new one up at Scrap the Boys is a mood board:

Pretty isn't it? I decided to go with the soft greeny blue colours and added some peachy colour too that is seen in one of the photos. I scrapped about my gorgeous little nephew, some photos that I had of him playing in the park (in his own unique way of course!).

Lots of great D-lish goodies on this page, and also a Charms Creations super star!

I love using Motex from D-lish, and this time I used the clear one and mounted on some of the patterned paper that I used in my page and trimmed it down, perfect co-ordination!

Now, don't forget to check out our sponsors too! Without them we just don't have a challenge blog. And check out all the inspiration from the rest of the team here, and there will be a mid-month reveal too.

Faber Castell have generously donated a pack of gelatos!

So, now it is your turn to go and Scrap the Boys!

D-lish Catch Up

Hello there! I hope you are enjoying your Easter long weekend. I thought this was a good time to share my latest creations for D-lish Scraps, oh and by the way I am thrilled to be back there for a second term!

I decided to do some different things for my most recent projects and this is what I came up with:

First I focused on different ways to use the great paper bags in the shop.

Here I cut the bag into strips and used it just like patterned paper, a great way to use your bags! You can see the rest of the post here.

Next I created a mini album out of the smaller bags, the perfect size for a little brag book! Check out the inside of the album here.

D-lish goodies are perfect for dressing up your Project Life spreads. Read all about it here.

And lastly I created some cards inspired by one of the challenges from the current cyber crop. Check out the whole post here.

So, I hope you go and check them out, and all the other great inspiration happening on the D-lish blog!

Happy Easter with Charms Creations

Guess what?! We are celebrating Easter this week over at Charms Creations with a blog hop!

 http://ourbrightstarsandus.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c66b453ef01bb08122e98970d-pi

Lots of fun stuff happening on the blog this week so make sure you check in every day and best of all there is a prize up for grabs at the end of the week!

Easter for us is all about catching up with family and there are hot cross buns and a bit of chocolate thrown in for good measure too! We also have two birthday's in our extended family in April, so sometimes it's about birthdays too.

This year I decided to make some cut files for Easter and see what I could do with them in a crafty way. So here is what I created:

So the Keep Calm one came from something I found on Pinterest:

if i do keep hoping i get dizzy and loose my balance i always do that who knows why?

And then once I created this file, I used the bunny and created my own tag. The chick and egg are my own handiwork, created from drawings. The chick and egg were cut from water colour paper too so that I could easily colour them with paint.

Now, this is what I did with them all:

So here I used some Heidi Swapp colour shine to colour my tag with some white card underneath so I could use it as a mask at the same time. I used three colours (although it is kind of hard to see) - Blush, Peach and Seafoam. Two for the price of one!

For this one I grabbed my distress inks and swiped them on my craft mat and sprayed water on them and then swiped the card through to create a really soft water colour effect. I used these colours - milled lavender, squeezed lemonade, spun sugar, tumbled glass, shabby shutters and dried marigold. Not all of the colours are obvious and in hindsight perhaps I should have limited to three or four. Oh well it still looks good!

Lastly, these ones I just used my water colours and blended two colours as I painted around. Pretty!

So, now that I had some things created I needed to use them! I decided to create a page with a cute photo of my daughter in bunny ears from a few of years ago.

So I went with the tag and kept to the soft pastel colours, and of course I found an appropriate Charms Creations to add! I also added a couple of doilies that I had from my older orders, keeping it a soft and pretty page.

Love my hearts! And the touch of denim helps make a feature of the heart too.

Doesn't the tag look cool?! Well I think so! Loved these Elle's Studio papers too, so soft and pretty, made me wish I had two of each paper when I started using them.

As an Easter present for you I am going to share my cut files so you can have a play too! I have also turned this Some Bunny Tag into a printable so you can simply print and then cut it out by hand. There are four tags on an A4 size page with each tag coloured a different Easter colour.

Here are the links:

Bunny Tags Printable
Bunny Tag cut file
Keep Calm cut file
Chick and Egg cut file (please note that this cuts jagged as it came from a scan of a drawing!)

Now don't forget to have "a wonderful" Easter and try and make lots of memories with your family and loved ones!

And also don't forget to collect the word or words on everyone's blogs and unscramble the message to try to win a great prize! Bet you can't figure out the word/s to collect here! Once you have the message worked out email it to Charm for your chance to win.

Happy Easter!
