New Charms Creations

Have you seen the absolutely adorable new embellishments over at Charms Creations?! They are too cute for words, emojis! And let me tell you they are even more adorable in real life!

Since I have some of these in my hot little hands I thought it only fitting to put them to work. I found just the right photos and the perfect emoji to go with them....

Didn't I tell you I found the perfect photos for the laughing emoji?! I also managed to slip a few other Charms onto the page too, a couple of DIY triangles and DIY banner, so versatile the DIY's. I haven't done anything with them here except layer with them, which I think is my favourite thing to do with all of the Charms Creations!

Can you see the triangle hiding in here? The twine and veneer came from older mixed kits too, always good things to put to work!

More layering and DIY's. I find that word stickers/die-cuts and veneer are perfect for the layering as they are fairly flat on top of the thicker Charms embellishment.

And a close up of that all too cute emoji! I can't wait to play with the others in my set!

Charms Creations Share

I don't know about you, but I love Charm's mixed packs that she puts out in a sale every now and then, and the most recent sale was full of lots of gorgeous packs. Alas I didn't get to any of these in time, but I was not too worried as I still had some left over from other sales!

So I decided to try and put one of these packs to good use and show you how you can get just about all your embellishing needs for a page done with one of these and still have a few bits left over! I picked a gorgeous blue themed pack that worked well with one stand out colour in the photo that I had chosen, then it all came together pretty quickly.

So, from the pack are: heavenly heart, super star, paper doily, project life cards, twine, small crocheted doilies, wood veneer heart and coloured bulldog clip. The only extras added were the splash of pink enamel hearts from D-lish Scraps, the vellum bow from Rainbow Splendour, Flair from Flutterby Designs, word stickers from Crate Paper and the wood veneer title which was from Freckled Fawn. Too easy!

I love layering with Charms, it is especially easy with wood veneer and stickers.

The clip was a great way to add the bow too, layered with a few other bits to make another little cluster.

And I couldn't go past adding some metallic flair (in the perfect colour of course!) to this little cluster. I love the twine on the heart too.

So there you go, a page almost completely done with one kit.

Show Us Your Stuff March

Well, today I am back to share a page that I created for the Show Us Your Stuff challenge. This month is a sketch.

I kind of flipped mine, like a mirror flip, well you will get it when you see it!

I also managed to use lots of "handmade" goodies too. Not made by me, but things from small Aussie business that do make things themselves! Can you spot them all?

Here I have used a Burdy's Embellies spotty button. It is great to layer with and create a small cluster with my journalling.

In this cluster is a D-lish Scraps flair, a Charms Creations heavenly heart and part of a vellum bow from Rainbow Splendour who also happen to be a sponsor this month!

More Rainbow Splendour goodness here, the other half of the bow, a wood veneer cloud and also a pretty pin.

When I cut the bow to use I realised that it kind of reminded me of a fish tail, which I thought was super cool given the page is about my son playing in the water!

So, there you have it, my page for SUYS with lots and lots of handmade goodness! I hope you get a chance to play too, with Rainbow Splendour as a sponsor it is worth it!

Scrapbooking Top 50 March Challenge

Last catch up for now (that I can think of!), this time it is Scrapbooking Top 50. This month we have a prompt for the challenge. You need to use the word "sweet" on your page, you can take inspiration from the pretty picture too if it helps, hmmmmm donuts!

Here is my page:

I decided to use one of Cocoa Vanilla's pretty collections, and would you believe that there just happened to be the word sweet in the die cuts?! Pretty "sweet" I say!

I repeated the triangles that were on some of the patterned paper on the background too, with texture paste coloured by Lindy's Stamp Gang magicals (very cool for colouring texture paste!), and a Amy Tan small stencil.

A little cluster with a stamped tab and some flowers cut out from some paper and a Rainbow Splendour wood veneer cross (or + depending on how you position it!).

Some more crosses and a pretty pin also from Rainbow Splendour, and of course there has to be a Charms Creations embellishment on the page! This time a pretty soft heart, the doily is also from one of the mixed packs (that I think will be available again very soon!).

This month WOW chipboard is a sponsor and I have used one of their flourishes which I covered with Colour Blast paste (not quite as easy to do as it sounds!).

So make sure you head over to the blog and check out the other samples and have a go yourself! There is still plenty of time to get an entry in!

Scrap the Girls March Challenge

Still catching up on my new month shares! Today is Scrap the Girls challenge, and it is a sketch! Yay!

You have to love a sketch with lots of layering! I decided to rotate and use two photos instead of one, another beauty of using a sketch, adjusting it to suit you!

Other than the few tweaks that I mentioned I stayed fairly true to the design of the sketch. I loved playing up in the red ribbon in the photo by adding little touches of red on the page, while the rest of it was fairly neutral.

Love these new giant clouds from Charms Creations!  The clouds added that little touch of whimsy to the page and made for great embellishments.

I also used some Rainbow Splendour wood veneer clouds to create my little cluster of three!

Charms Creations is one of the sponsors of this months challenge, so you know there is a fabulous prize up for grabs so make sure you go and check it out and have a go!

Kraft+ March Challenge

Boy oh boy, time is really getting away from me at the moment. I blame it on the fact that I am studying this year as well as trying to do everything that I was already doing before! Craziness!

So, belatedly here is the new March challenge for Kraft+

Now, having a sketch makes it a little easier, or so I thought when I started, but for some reason this one didn't come as easily as it should have! Maybe it was the twist of houndstooth that tipped me over the edge.

I went big with the houndstooth and combined it with some foiling for fun! This is the page that I created:

Lots of houndstooth! I also found some great houndstooth patterned paper in my stash and the colours were perfect for my photo, so I decided to run with that colour scheme.

A bit of corrugated card for fun and texture and I am still loving my motex labeller for journalling.

And where would one of my pages be without a Charms Creations embellishment?! Lost that is where! Here a gorgeous heart.

So we are only half way through March so you still have plenty of time to join in the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by,
