Hello... I Love You, is the title of the Inspiration board over at D'Lish Scraps this month and with only a day to spare I managed to get something completed! Which is just as well, since I ordered the kit to go with the board as soon as it was released! And what a gorgeous kit it is too! So here is the board:
I loved the colours especially in this board, and the theme too. So, seeing we just had a new addition to our family, I decided to scrap her...
Meet our "Little One", a name yet to be agreed upon by all members of the household! She is a sweet young thing from the Little Paws Kitten Rescue group. We have always tried to rescue an animal when we look for pets. As for the page, a little bit of this and a little bit of that, my usual style I guess!
So that is all for now. Til next time...

White With 1 July
So, here is my sample from the White With 1 challenge for July. This month the colour is Duck Egg blue. Another one of those colours that can be a little hard to "match up", but I think my blue was pretty close!
And here is my sample:
We also got to play with some gorgeous supplies from Flutterby Designs! The love card, flair and people wood veneer are all from Flutterby. Check them out for some cool bits and pieces to finish off your page!
And of course, go and check out the WW1 page to see all the great inspiration from the rest of the team and then do your own page too!
Thanks for stopping by,

Challenge 8
Well, technically we are way past the due date for this to be included in the competition, but I finished it and thought I would share it anyway!
This challenge was a technique challenge and that technique was using plastic to paint with. Now, lucky for me, this is something I have come across before, have tried and love using!
What I did do was play around with the technique! I proceeded as demonstrated in the challenge, by first wetting the background cardstock and then adding my paint (in this case a Mr Huey's mist sprayed directly onto the plastic) onto the background. Then after this dried, I sprayed some more mist onto the same plastic, which was "crumpled" in my hand and "painted" some more colour on. Without the damp background this second layer came out a little more defined and darker adding some interest and texture! I also stamped and inked a stencil onto the background for further "layers". So that's enough talking, here is the finished product:
Again I did use some D'Lish products on my page. Freckled Fawn glitter arrow, Chalkboard tab and a kraft bitty bag. I also played around with the Kal Barteski's font on my silhouette to cut the title.
Oh, and speaking of challenges, I was lucky enough to win Challenge 7, Wendy's colour challenge for my page with Liam and his lego head! Thanks Amanda and team!

Challenge 7
So, it is a matter of hours now until the door closes for the D'Lish cyber crop challenges. I have completed challenge 7, but I am not sure I have it in me to finish of challenge 8.... But there is still time so we will see what happens!
Back to challenge 7, this was a colour challenge from Wendy, and best of all it has one of my favourite scrappy colours at the moment, yellow!
And here is my page:
I have managed to use some D'Lish goodies on this page too, and I had to chuckle when I realised most of it was Freckled Fawn! There is the flair, the wood veneer, the resin and the enamel dots.
Well, I suppose I better try and get back to it as that clock is ticking and just to prove that I have started - challenge 8 is a technique challenge of painting with plastic. Here is a picture of my background with the technique:
Til next time!

Challenge 6
Back today with Challenge 6! This challenge was to pick a row on the bingo card and use all of those items on your creation. Other stuff could be used too, so long as all the required items were there. Here is the bingo card and Ros's sample page:
I chose to do the first row down - Journaling, Paint, Hearts, Stitching and Wood Veneer. All me, all do-able! This is the page that I finished up with:
I chose these photos because there was a great story behind it all and I thought that was important as journaling was a must have for this challenge. All the other items there, even if the stitching is "low key"! There is also some D'Lish goodies (of course!) on this page - wood veneer hearts and heart shaped brads. I also had a play with painting my title for that script look. I need some more practice but I love the result!
Well that is now 6 challenges down and two more to go and I still have about four and bit days up my sleeve! Not doing too badly even if I do say so myself!

Challenge 5
Still at it! Monday was a bit of a right off with things on so didn't get to my desk, but today is a new and quieter day so the games have begun!
Challenge 5 was a recipe challenge:
And my page based on the recipe:
Ingredients:
1 x cardstock - check (bazzill white of course!)
4 x patterned papers - check (4 neutral Studio Calico papers)
1 x washi tape - check (blue spotty)
4 x different colours of mist/ink/paint - check (pink and blue dylusions mists, white gesso and black ink)
1 x project life card or journal spot - check (I cut mine in half and used both pieces)
1 x flair button - check (a D'Lish special!)
3 x flowers - check (3 white paper flowers)
2 x different types of stamps - check (dotty background stamp plus date stamp)
1 x paperclip - check (Freckled Fawn silver arrow paperclip)
1 x piece twine/trim - check (pink twine bow)
unlimited chipboard/wood veneer - check (flower centers and arrows - these are from D'Lish)
So I think that means this is done and dusted! You may have noticed that I am an orderly kind of girl, so no surprises I will be moving onto challenge number 6 now! But still a few days to get the last three done!

Challenge 4
Back again! Probably my last for today. Challenge 4 was to use the following mood board:
I had to think about this one for a while. I love the colours, but wasn't sure how to proceed, but then I found the perfect photo and it just flowed on from there! So here is my page inspired by the mood board:
So obviously the colours were a great source of inspiration, but I also had some fun painting some balloons! I made this a very whimsical kind of page to suit the photo, so much fun to make! And yes there is some D'Lish goodness in this page too! Sequins, motex and the musical notes are from some Freckled Fawn wood veneer!

Challenge Number 3
Challenge number 3 was a little more tricky, well I thought it was going to be! This was a product challenge, and the product was flowers (I must admit, not my most favourite nor used product!). Not only was it flowers, but you needed to include at least 5 different kinds of flowers on your project! Now I wasn't even sure that I had 5 different kinds of flowers in my stash! Well it turns out that I did, and more! So here is what I ended up with:
Now, I am not great with flower clusters, but I think this turned out ok. Again plenty of D'Lish to be seen! Including - small paper blue flowers, purple ribbon flower, flower sequins, gold glitter washi and motex. I also have a great little tip (I read somewhere recently but could not tell you where!), attach your sequins with liquid pearls and you get a pretty centre for you sequin!
So that is all I have done for now, but I will be attempting some more! The final date to have them in is Monday 14th July. So I have a little time up my sleeve!

D'Lish Challenge 2
OK, on to challenge number 2. This was a sketch created by the lovely Kylie. So here is the sketch:
And here is my interpretation:
Had lots of fun with the background with some texture paste, watercolour paint, masks and stamping. Again there is some D'Lish on this page, a bit more restrained though! Just the Freckled Fawn wood veneer frame. which just happened to be a perfect fit for this photo!
Onwards to the next challenge....

D'Lish Scraps 5th Birthday Weekend!
Well D'Lish is celebrating their 5th birthday this weekend and there have been lots of fun and games and of course challenges a plenty! And of course, I just had to participate in some of these challenges!
First challenge was to "scraplift" this beautiful page done by Tarrah, and mention what it was that inspired your own page.
And here is my page:
When I first saw the page I was immediately in love with all the layering so that is probably the foundation of my scraplift, and the general design/layout too. But I also loved some of the little tid-bits included so had to add them to my page also! There is also plenty of D'Lish goodness on my page (a bit embarrassing how much of a D'Lish stash that I have!) including Journal It's, Freckled Fawn wood veneer, little peg, manilla tag, chevron bag and seam binding!
So that is challenge one for you. Back soon with more!

Cyber Cropping
I have been cyber cropping! Something that I have not done in a long while! I decided to join in on the Scrapbook Savvy cyber crop which started last Friday evening. I have completed two of the four challenges and not sure if I will get to any more.
The sad thing about this cyber crop is it will be the last for the store as they are closing down. Seems to be happening too much lately....
So the challenges which I have completed are:
Mood board inspiration
My page took inspiration from the feathers and also the wooden bursts on the clock. So I have ended up with this:
Lots of feathers and a splash of wood veneer! A very neutral page, not my usual style, but I like it! Oh and the gold feathers are made using washi tape!
The next challenge was based on the sketch:
And my interpretation:
The basic layout is there, but I have certainly "tweaked" the sketch to my own purposes!
