Kraft Plus December

Now that I am on the team, my official duties start in January (which is tomorrow), but I really wanted to get December's challenge done too. It really appealed, I think it was the map thing.

So, I created a page more about the idea of traveling rather than a particular destination or trip that I have taken.

Now given that I didn't really have any idea of where I was going with the design of this one, I am really pleased with how it turned out. The one thing I did know, was that I wanted to use the world map stamp by Tim Holtz.

I was amazed at how many little travel themed bits and pieces I had scattered through my stash. I found this cute little puffy plane sticker as well as gold glitter geotags.

I even had some old Crate Paper stickers and tags that fitted in perfectly. And one of the DIY Map Markers from Charms Creations was a must have, I coloured this one with blush Colour Shine and splattered with some gold mist.

So there you have it, a very last minute page for another cool Kraft + challenge. Make sure you keep an eye out for the new challenge set to go up very soon for January!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year to you all! May 2016 be filled with joy and peace for everyone.

Last Minute Pages

Nothing like leaving things to the last minute is there?! But at this time of year when you are go go go for most of the month and then finally things start to settle down and bam, New Years Eve is upon you.

Well despite the craziness and going away for a few days after Christmas, I found some time today to do the Show Us Your Stuff December sketch.

I thought a sketch was a good way to go in order to "get something done"! And here is the page that I created:

I had lots of fun adding some colourful Colour Blast texture paste (yellow) and also some Shimmerz pretty pastel pink Dazzler paste. I just spread it on with a spatula type tool and let it dry, nice and easy!

I have added a few things for my hand made goodies. Here is a beautiful vellum bow from Rainbow Spendour. The little foiled circles are also hand made, by me!

Who can resist a pretty Heavenly Heart from Charms Creations? And this white doily one was perfect for adding texture as well.

And last one, this great heart pretty pin also from Rainbow Splendour. I love how it matched the pinks in the papers.

So that is it. I have one more last minute challenge that I need to load up and then I am getting settled in to some TV watching and I will definitely be in bed before the new year rings in!

CharmsCreations December/January Challenges

Hi there, Christmas Eve and I think I have everything ready for tomorrow! I still need to finish off some wrapping, but I am pretty sure that I have everything that I need. So some time to catch up on some blogging!

Did you know that Charms Creations has two challenges running across December and January? That way if you have lots of spare time to scrap you can do two challenges, but if you are a bit short on that all elusive scrapping time you still have two months to try and finish off one challenge!

I finally found some time this week to do just that! I have used the first challenge which has a choice of two colour palettes, and the option of Christmas theme or not. I happened to have some Christmas themed photos so I went down that path!

Here is the colour palettes:

And here is the page that I created, using the colours from the wreath palette.

I found some great die cuts in an older MME ephemera pack that I had, some with gold foil, so I ran with adding a touch of gold to my page too! And the star foiled vellum from one of Shimelle's collections was perfect! Can you spy my Charms Creations?

Some foiled die cuts, stickles on plain die cuts and gold foiled word strips, love adding the bling! This pretty pin from Rainbow Splendour was a perfect addition with the star themed vellum!

So, I think this colour mini heart might have to be one of my favourites from the Charms Creations range, it is so soft and pretty and of course perfect with this palette!

And when I took a look at the photos that I was going to use I just knew that I had to include this cute tree! Isn't it the perfect addition?!

So, this is my take on the first challenge, I am hoping to get to the second one after Christmas and I hope to see you all having a go for at least one of these challenges too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrap the Boys December

Christmas is closing in fast! Are you all ready? I am almost there, but boy the days are disappearing fast in this house, I don't think December birthday's help with this!

But here I am to share my Scrap the Boys December page, which this month is a sketch. I decided to shrink the sketch and put it in the top corner of my page, it just seemed to work better with my photo and plan!

And this is my page, see if you can find the sketch in there! I promise it is there! And it shows there is more than one way to approach a sketch.

I have used Made of Awesome again by Cocoa Vanilla, loving all of Zoe's great paper collections! Hmmm that reminds me I might need to go and buy myself a Christmas present....

I am loving layering with my Charms Creations right now, and it is so easy to do. On the star I have stapled a vellum star from the Made of Awesome collection and added some wood veneer on top (also from the collection).

And here I stapled a die cut arrow on top of my Charms arrow. Still loving and using my D-lish Scraps journal its too! My pile is admittedly rather large, but they are so easy to use!

So, why don't you go and check out the rest of the teams inspiration for the sketch and then have a go yourself?!

Scrap the Girls December Challenge

A new month already and a new challenge at Scrap the Girls! This month is a gorgeous inspiration board:

The colours are so rich and inspiring! My layout design was inspired by Missy Whidden, I love watching her put together a page, check out her you tube videos if you have the chance.

Here is my page:

I love how there is a great balance of the freshness of the white background and the richness of the colours.

A simple wood veneer word for my title, and Charms Creations heavenly heart in just the right shade of teal!

2Crafty is a sponsor this month, and I even had some in my stash! I used some diamond border bits that I experimented on and successfully managed to add teal foil to!

Make sure you head over and check out the other girls great designs too!

Mid Month Reveal Scrap the Boys

Now, I know that I am a bit late with blogging my Scrap the Boys page, but in my defense I have been running around like a crazy woman finishing off Kindy photos for the year! So, today I have a bit of free time... better late than never I say!

This month is a great photo inspiration for Scrap the Boys:

And given how much my Liam loves his food this was an easy one! I played with some of the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla collection that I won a little while ago and finished with this:

I love how easily this page came together with the Cocoa Vanilla "Made of Awesome" as my starting point!

Those vellum stars are too cute! And the die cuts are awesome!

I even managed to include a Charms Creations Terrific Tab. These are such versatile little embellishments, and perfect for layering with!

So there you go, now it is your turn to go and scrap your boy!

Scrapbooking Top 50 November Challenge

Morning! Charms Creations are a sponsor over at Scrapbooking Top 50 this month and we got a chance to play with their very tropical mood board!

My first thought when I saw this board was cool colours! Then I thought I could create something a bit like the umbrellas using my stash of Charms Creations "O's", so I did! This is what I finished with:

It was just lucky that lots of paper collections had fruit prints! I had a great range of paper to choose from! And the photo (even though it is an older one) had the perfect colours for this board.

Now don't laugh too hard at my stitching attempt! I know I need to work on those French knots. But I think the "fruit" turned out pretty cool!

I love using a wood veneer word as a title, it makes life so simple! I think this one is from Freckled Fawn.

Some simple neutral embellishments help to finish off the page.

So, are you going to have a go at this challenge?!

Thanks for stopping by.

November Challenge at Charms Creations

This month at Charms Creations we have a cool challenge in keeping with the idea of "Mo-vember", here is the inspiration for the challenge:

Now, the first thing that inspired me from this collection was the water colour circles with their different mo's, so I used this as my starting point for my page.

I pulled out my brights gelatos set and selected a few colours and greated my water colour spots, leaving a space in between for my photos. These spots made a great place to add embellishments so I added lots of mo's (these came from Charm in one of our orders, cool aren't they?!), and a few other bits from some Heidi Swapp ephemera that I had lying around.

One of the "O's" was a perfect addition and in keeping with the feel of the page, and this red spotty mo needed it's own special place.

I think the black mo here was in a set of wood veneer from Typo. Got to love that store for having some cool bits and pieces!

And I had to fix up the "f" in the title with it's own mo too! This was a little sticker.

Well, I think I can safely say this was a fun layout to make and it makes me smile to look at too!

I hope you check out the challenge and maybe have a go yourself too!

Kraft+ November Challenge

This month over at Kraft+ the challenge is Kraft plus "Inspired by P!nk" as in the singer not the colour! I love her songs so it didn't take much for me to add this to my "to do" list for the month.

I have been inspired lately by Amanda Hall's work of printing directly onto kraft backgrounds and building up from there and decided that could work well with this challenge. I did a bit of searching on-line and came up with this P!nk cover that I liked.

So I started with this and made my own version of it in Photoshop and printed it directly onto kraft cardstock and then added some extras to finish it off. I kinda like how it turned out too!

I chose to use the words from the song "Perfect" instead for my title. And because it was printed on kraft the colours are all a bit muted, but I love this and think I will be doing it again!

A little Charms Creations tab was a good fit for my embellishment cluster.

And the bottom cluster with a heavenly heart and some cool washi in the same diamond pattern as on the background. I am still loving these little word stickers, my go to item at the moment, these ones are from Crate Paper.

Happy November!

Well today is the beginning of November and also I guess the downhill run into the end of the year. It is crazy just how fast this year feels like it has flown by. Is anyone else feeling it?!

But new month means new challenges are revealed and today I am sharing the page that I created for the Scrap the Girls November challenge. This month it is a great sketch:

And there are plenty of great prizes too, check out all the details on the blog here and also see the other fabulous samples created by the team. And this is the page that I created, I am not one to use circular photos much so it is definitely an adaption!

I just love the bright pink and black combination, and lots of little girly touches thrown in for good measure!

For the tags I have used journal spots and tabs. I love adding in words either on stickers or tabs, they are great for layering.

And this Charms Creation in my stash was too cute and I thought it went perfectly with the photos.

So you have seen my take on the sketch, check out the rest of the teams and then have a go too! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Another Guest Designer Page for CSI

We were given three Case Files for our guest designer stint over at CSI this month and I managed to complete two of them. Today I am going to share Case File #180 which went up just last week.

Here is the page that I created. One of my favourites too! I just loved the colours in the this one.

So, I managed to include: Leaves, Doilies, Scallop border, Book Page, Polka Dots and Watercolour.

This Charms Creation circle in book page made that an easy option!

And I got the theme of my page and title from the Carry on Tuesday blog. I thought attending the muscial "Wicked" was a kind of magic!
