A Late Scrap the Boys Share

Well, I nearly got the November Scrap the Boys challenge completed in time! This time of year is just madness for trying to do things just for myself I tell you....

Anyway, I still did get it done, even if it wasn't on time!

The challenge at Scrap the Boys for November was to scrap the softer side of your boy/man, and as soon as I saw this I knew what photo that I wanted to use. It was one of my Liam from one morning before school with our old boy cat Rhubarb in his lap while Pearl the cockatiel sat on his shoulder!

I played with an older Fancy Pants collection for this one, it had great boy colours! A bit of stenciling on the background, both with ink and texture paste, and I just love the coloured corrugated card that came in the collection.

Well that's all for now.

Thanks for stopping by.

D-lish Sharing

My posts for November went up at D-lish recently so I thought I would share them here too!

This one was a little different for me. Still growing on me! But lots of great D-lish goodies to spy!

I love how this turned out, but how can you go wrong when you start with such a pretty photo!

And I loved playing with some of the Cyber crop challenges here, firstly the colour challenge - red, yellow, black and also the inclusion of wood veneer that has been coloured.  Oh and I just have to say what a lovely young man Lincoln Lewis is!

December White With 1

Can you believe it is a new month already?! Not only that we are well and truly into countdowns now, for Christmas and New Year and end of school!

But a new month means a new colour over at WW1 and this month is great, it is Paloma, which is what colour I hear you ask?! Well it is a warm grey, but good for sophisticated Christmas pages, or in my case Halloween!

The creative team was very lucky to receive some gorgeous goodies from Charm's Creations to use also. These goodies are so easy to use and Charm makes them in all sorts of gorgeous colours too, so make sure you check out her handmade goodies here.

As usual I have managed to add in a few D-lish Scraps goodies onto my page too. There are always something to find that I can use that comes from D-lish!

Besides Charm's Creations we have some other lovely sponsors this month, so make sure you go and check them out too! You just never know what you might find!

Imaginarium Designs
Scrap Everything
Scrapping Bits

Make sure you go and check out work from the other creative team members too, I am sure you will find some inspiration to scrap with Paloma! WW1 December Link

D-lish Cyber Crop

Last weekend was this months Cyber Crop over at D-lish Scraps and I was lucky enough to set one of the challenges for the weekend.

And a full scale copy of the sample:

I just love the look of an oversized photo on a page, it really makes a spectacular page!

That is all to share for today, although I must say that I feel like I have been scrapping up a storm lately, but I just can't share most of it yet! But I can say I have some cool news to share soon that I can't wait to share with you!

Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

Second Post for Imaginarium Designs

So, half way through November already. Just crazy really! It is always like this at this time of the year so I shouldn't be surprised but it always is exhausting.

Thought I would just pop in and share my next post that is up over at Imaginarium Designs, you can see the whole post here. Also they are having a Design Team call if you love working with all kinds of cool chipboard. It closes on 30th November and details are on their blog.

I think this is one of my favourite pages that I have created so far.

I added little seed beads to the chipboard to give the feeling of the foam and bubbles on the waves, love how it turned out!

And I had a ball creating the title with the drawing and cutting features on my Silhouette. So much fun!

Thanks for stopping by,

White with Freesia

This month at White With 1 the colour is Freesia, a gorgeous happy yellow!

Here is the sample page that I created:

Can you spy the gorgeous flairs that we were given by Funky Flair Studio?! I love flair and these coordinated beautifully with the Freesia.

And make sure you go and check out Molossi who we have partnered with this month.

Fun with Embossing

Over at the Scrap Suite Facebook group (run by D-lish Scraps) we have just finished up our October Cyber crop. One of the challenges was to include embossing wet or dry on your page, this was set by the lovely Cindy and her page was amazing!

Now, I always like a good challenge, and I have been seeing some embossing techniques that I have been wanting to give a go. So I thought no time like the present!

Here is the page that I came up with:

What I have done is a faux letter-press technique whereby I inked with a brayer one side of my embossing folder and then ran it through the machine. In this case I used one of the Tim Holtz card embossing folders and I used the Red Royal Hero Arts ink. Looks great doesn't it?! I also ran some plain vellum through to make the second card.

The other embossing, which is a little harder to see as it is hidden behind stuff (in the close up below it is the bigger dot behind the black with white dotty paper), is metallic embossing powder on vellum with a dots background stamp. I love this look! I used Pewter Metallic Zing from American Crafts. I also love the look of the Copper Zing.

And lastly, I decided to have a play with some of the D-lish coloured tulle, I think this one is silver. I just pinched it in and stapled with the Tim Holtz tiny attacher (love that thing!)  and created a border.

All in all a fun page to create! And I encourage you to go and ask to join the Scrap Suite and join in on the next cyber crop!

Thanks for stopping by.

Cyber Crop over at The Scrap Suite

So, if you haven't checked it out already, I think you really need to go and ask to join The Scrap Suite Facebook Group. It is a closed group and it is a community of D-lish Scraps people who love to create with D-lish goodies! Once a month there is a fab cyber crop with some inspiring challenges to get you our of your comfort zone.

This month the sketch challenge was set by Ros and looked something like this:

Isn't the page adorable! I decided to do something a little differently for my take on the page. Instead of creating  pie chart as drawn, I decided to use a large doily for my circle background and used strips of coloured paper with faux stitching to represent the pieces of the pie. So I ended up with this page:

Lots of D-lish goodies in here. The flowers, the bottle cap, the resin heart, the doilies, the motex tape and the Pink Fresh brad sticker.

So go and check out The Scrap Suite for yourself and join in on all the fun!

Scrap the Girls October

Well, I have been busy at work creating all kinds of pages, it's just that I can't share any of them yet! But I have managed another challenge. I decided to play along with Scrap the Girls this month, I was really drawn to their mood board, the colours particularly. Here is the mood board:

As I mentioned I was drawn to the colours, specifically the pink, orange and aqua. Here is the page I created (inspired by a page that I had pinned ages ago).

I love this photo of Erin. It was from the day we played laser skirmish in the bush for Liam's 10th birthday, and given Erin didn't really want to play at first you can see by the pose she embraced it in the end!

I love how one of  Charm's Creations hearts matched beautifully with this page, throw in a few Pink Fresh wood hearts from D'lish Scraps and of course a bitty paper bag and the page was just about complete!

Definitely a fun page!

Thanks for stopping by.

Scrap the Boys October

Well, school holidays have finished and we are in the downhill run to the end of the year. It is hard to believe we are approaching the end of another year. I swear this one has gone by even faster than previous ones!

I managed to steal some time to myself at the end of the break to sit at my desk and play, and my go to place to start is one of the great challenge blogs that we have out there. Scrap the Boys caught my attention because the theme for the month is - Technology Savvy. And since my Liam bought himself an iPad mini with his birthday money and has been obsessed ever since I thought that was the perfect story!

So here is my finished page:

I have been having a great time playing with my Silhouette lately, more to come on that later, and decided to grab an apple logo and title to trace and cut for my title. Turned out pretty well, and it was a great finish to the page! There is also a little bit of D'lish goodies on there too, the flair, twine, star button and today tab. It is always easy to add a little bit of something from D'lish!!

Here are a couple of close ups too:

I also played with a new stencil, plus signs (I think it is called positive), a Kaiser Craft one. I used some pumice stone distress ink to give a subtle background and not overwhelm the papers.

Anyway, that is all for now.

Thanks for stopping by.

Playing with Chipboard

A little while ago, back in August actually, I was a lucky winner of a Facebook competition with Imaginarium Designs chipboard. I was sent a generous pack of assorted chipboard pieces and was told to play! I have some special projects that will be shown on the Imaginarium Designs blog sometime during November so keep a look out for those. But until then here is one that I have created recently.

When I saw the train, I just knew that I had to use the photos from my nephews first birthday earlier this year! I coloured in the stars with a silver wink of luna metallic pen (amazing by the way!) and then covered in glossy accents to give some depth to the chipboard.

I also used some of the stars that were in assorted sizes. I covered the stars in red glitter Zing embossing powder from American Crafts. It added such a nice sparkle and finish to them!

I have had the opportunity to work with ID chipboard before in some of my WW1 projects, and they happen to be a sponsor this month too, so make sure you enter!

White With 1 October

Well, I have been lucky enough to have another term with WW1 and there are a few familiar faces and a few new ones. Plenty of inspiring people no matter how you look at it! This month we have tweaked the rules a little to make it easier for everyone to understand and play along. So go and check them out here and then get ready to put your scrapping brain into action!

First up, a little shout out to the sponsors this month, these guys are offering some great prizes, check out the prizes for this month here:

Imaginarium Designs

Scrapbook Boutique
Scrapbook Fantasies

Now, for the colour reveal.... This month it is White with Radiant Orchid!

It is a lovely shade of purple, and right on trend this year too! And this is what I created:

(Funny I think my purple is a little pink... just goes to show you we all have some troubles matching the colour sometimes!)

So, make sure you go and check out the rest of the creative teams inspiration for radiant orchid and then have a go yourself!

D'lish Scraps September Inspiration Board

As soon as I saw this month's inspiration board at D'lish I knew that I had to have a go, this was further cemented when I saw the kits that went along with it!

Aren't the colours just gorgeous?! Anyway, I was quick in and managed to score myself a kit and armed with that and little else I began! This is what I finished with.

I used a new Heidi Swapp hearts stencil with some Colour Shine sprays to create the background, and used my own hand writing to create a cut file for the title. I love the way it turned out!

Another D'lish Cyber Crop Challenge

So, I did manage to get one more challenge completed for the cyber crop. I even added a mobile phone photo to the album. But then realised I had forgotten one of the criteria! Oh well, never mind...

The challenge was from the lovely Sandra - Queen of the Cyber Crop from August, and it was to make the project photography centered and include a camera embellishment somewhere (this is what I forgot!). I did however go back and add a camera before taking a better photo!

After reading the challenge I knew exactly which photo that I wanted to use. Our Niamh has taken an interest in photography, more specifically flower photography and if we are going anywhere (and she has to be dragged along...) that gives her this opportunity she will take my old SLR and do so.

Thanks for stopping by!

D'lish Scraps Cyber Crop

Just a quick post today, sharing one of my challenges for the September cyber crop for D'lish Scraps. Not sure if I will get any more done as I have a few bits of "secret squirrel" stuff to do!

So, I decided to go with the colour challenge set by Wendy because I just loved the colour combo!

Don't you just love the bright colour combo?! I was hanging out to play with some new stencils that I purchased and I knew I had some mists in these colours, and this is what I ended up with:

Had some fun adding some little bits and pieces from D'lish (of course!) and managed to use one of my new Rainbow Splendour goodies ( the pinwheel), which just happened to be in the right colours!

So I decided to go with the Scrap the Girls challenge which is a sketch this month.

And this is what I created:

Can you believe that this little cherub is now 15 (and a half!) and is constantly reminding me she will be getting her learners soon..... Time flies.

September White With 1

Can you believe another month has rolled around already! Absolutely crazy I tell you! But another month means another colour at WW1, this month it is:

Marshmallow, a pretty shade of pink, although (and don't tell anyone!) I did struggle a little to find the right shade!

So here is my page:

I love how adding a little black can really make everything pop. Also we were very lucky to get some gorgeous goodies from Rainbow Splendour to play with. The three felt embellishments all came from there. Make sure you check the page out and see all the goodies there are, and make a note of the next sale date too!

Thanks for popping by.

D'Lish Scraps August Inspiration Board

I love using inspiration or mood boards for challenges. They are so open to interpretation and there are always so many different things that you can be inspired by. D'Lish do an inspiration board each month and this one is just beautiful! It is called Cotton Candy:

So many things to be inspired by. I took away the flowers, colours (sort of!) and the frames for my page:
