D'lish Scraps September Inspiration Board

As soon as I saw this month's inspiration board at D'lish I knew that I had to have a go, this was further cemented when I saw the kits that went along with it!

Aren't the colours just gorgeous?! Anyway, I was quick in and managed to score myself a kit and armed with that and little else I began! This is what I finished with.

I used a new Heidi Swapp hearts stencil with some Colour Shine sprays to create the background, and used my own hand writing to create a cut file for the title. I love the way it turned out!

Another D'lish Cyber Crop Challenge

So, I did manage to get one more challenge completed for the cyber crop. I even added a mobile phone photo to the album. But then realised I had forgotten one of the criteria! Oh well, never mind...

The challenge was from the lovely Sandra - Queen of the Cyber Crop from August, and it was to make the project photography centered and include a camera embellishment somewhere (this is what I forgot!). I did however go back and add a camera before taking a better photo!

After reading the challenge I knew exactly which photo that I wanted to use. Our Niamh has taken an interest in photography, more specifically flower photography and if we are going anywhere (and she has to be dragged along...) that gives her this opportunity she will take my old SLR and do so.

Thanks for stopping by!

D'lish Scraps Cyber Crop

Just a quick post today, sharing one of my challenges for the September cyber crop for D'lish Scraps. Not sure if I will get any more done as I have a few bits of "secret squirrel" stuff to do!

So, I decided to go with the colour challenge set by Wendy because I just loved the colour combo!

Don't you just love the bright colour combo?! I was hanging out to play with some new stencils that I purchased and I knew I had some mists in these colours, and this is what I ended up with:

Had some fun adding some little bits and pieces from D'lish (of course!) and managed to use one of my new Rainbow Splendour goodies ( the pinwheel), which just happened to be in the right colours!

Scrap the Girls September

So, I have managed to complete one challenge for September already! Impressed??!! I am, lol!

So I decided to go with the Scrap the Girls challenge which is a sketch this month.

And this is what I created:

Can you believe that this little cherub is now 15 (and a half!) and is constantly reminding me she will be getting her learners soon..... Time flies.

Thanks for stopping by.

September White With 1

Can you believe another month has rolled around already! Absolutely crazy I tell you! But another month means another colour at WW1, this month it is:

Marshmallow, a pretty shade of pink, although (and don't tell anyone!) I did struggle a little to find the right shade!

So here is my page:

I love how adding a little black can really make everything pop. Also we were very lucky to get some gorgeous goodies from Rainbow Splendour to play with. The three felt embellishments all came from there. Make sure you check the page out and see all the goodies there are, and make a note of the next sale date too!

Thanks for popping by.

D'Lish Scraps August Inspiration Board

I love using inspiration or mood boards for challenges. They are so open to interpretation and there are always so many different things that you can be inspired by. D'Lish do an inspiration board each month and this one is just beautiful! It is called Cotton Candy:

So many things to be inspired by. I took away the flowers, colours (sort of!) and the frames for my page:

Scrap the Boys - August

So, I have been doing a little scrapping lately, but not as much as I would have liked to. Was sick for a bit, still recovering actually, and just not inclined to do anything.... On the mend now, thank goodness!

Thought I would start with the Scrap the Boys challenge for this month, which was to profile your boy/man. I just happened to get the Teen Boy Project Life cards recently (like I need more of these!) and found the perfect one to document my Liam at almost 10.

Played with a new technique on this one, which kind of worked. The idea was to lay down some texture paste and stamp a background stamp into it to create an interesting background. The stamping didn't work as well as I was hoping. Not sure if the texture paste was too "thin" and wet or the stamp too complicated. Still a technique in progress I think!

Have also played along with the D'Lish Scrap Suite Cyber Crop that was launched last weekend. There was four challenges and I have managed to complete all four!

Challenge 1 - Use stamps

Well, to say this one excited me is probably and understatement! My next question was "which ones"?! I decided to try and create the kraft, white, black and red backgrounds that I am seeing around at the moment, loving this look (think Kaiser Craft Mix and Match collection).

I really enjoyed playing with some of my Kellie's Stamps (diamond, plus and words), also stamped the title and journalling spot.

Challenge 2 - use monochrome embellishments

This one took a little more thought. I ended picking photos first and the rest came together. Not a colour that I usually use though!

Lucky that I had some glorious purple (in the right shade and all!) embellies from D'Lish!! Love these photos of Liam and Alex too!

Well, I will leave it there for now. I will be back in a day or two with the other two challenges.
