White With One January

I have finally been able to do a WW1 challenge! It has been a while I think, goes to show how crazy the end of the year can be. But no matter, I have got this month's challenge done, and even used most of the goodies in my Resin Rainbow subscription too!

Here is the colour for this month, Treetop:

And here is what I created:

So, can you spot the Resin Rainbow goodies? They are the doily under the Charms Creations "O", the intertwined circles and also the pretty tissue paper, tag and "ribbons" under the doily. It all works pretty well I think!

I used this cute Charms Creations circle, I just couldn't go past the little character button! And it worked so well with the doily for making like a rosette. A touch of D-lish Scraps flowers for good measure make this a pretty cluster.

I really loved this circle border, so pretty and a great subtle addition on the page.

The tag gave me the perfect place to mount my title. And throw in a date spot and flair from D-lish Scraps, still some of my most used items!

Show Us Your Stuff January Challenge

Happy Australia Day! Mine was spent chilling at home, smelling the lamb roasting in the slow cooker! And it was yummy too!

Popping in for a quick share today to show you the page that I created for the SUYS January challenge. The challenge this month is to be inspired by the following mood board:

Very soft and pretty and all about summer! I decided to pull out some of my Cocoa Vanilla papers and I ended up with this page:

I guess my colour scheme was soft blues mixed with a bit of orange, but they needed to be on the softer side because of the mix of colours in the photo! I have used a bit of handmade stuff too! Can you see the subtle stencilling? That is from one of the great stencils at Flutterby Designs and it was used with some distress ink.

To start with there is a gorgeous lush lollipop from Charms Creations, the Project Life card was also from Charms Creations as a part of one of the great kits that come out every so often (the lollipop was a part of that kit too!). The wood veneer is also from an Aussie business, but they are no longer dealing in scrapping stuff and for the life of me I can't remember their name!

Here is a cute heart pretty pin from Rainbow Splendour, in the perfect colour too!

And lastly a cool chevron (also from the kit) also from Charms Creations to finish things off.

So there you have it, my page for the January Show Us Your Stuff mood board.

Scrapbooking Memories Catch Up

So, I am way out of date with putting these up on my blog, so I won't bombard you with all of them today, but I will share some of the pages that I created for my articles with SBM. They won't necessarily be in order either!

These three were for an article about ways of using more photos on your pages, without them looking too busy.

These ones were demonstrating all kinds of ways to include stamping on your pages.

And last ones for today, these were samples to demonstrate ways of layering.

I think there are still about another half a dozen pages left to share, but I will do that another day!

Match Made in Heaven

Good Morning and happy Thursday! I am popping in early, before I have to head off to appointments and running of errands to share a page which is great match of Rainbow Splendour and Charms Creations!

When I received some cool lightening bolts wood veneer from Rainbow Splendour I wasn't quite sure how I would use them, but then I realised that I also had some cool grey felt clouds from Charms Creations and I also happened to have some storm photos printed and so a page was born!

And what do you know, I also had some cool cloud paper in my stash from an old kit that was perfect for this page. What do you think of the stars? I used some Envy Colour Blast paste and I have to say it looks awesome on a dark background, then some silver mist (tinsel from Heidi Swapp I think) splattered for extra detail. Did you notice the perfect matching vellum bow too?

Don't the storm clouds look cool?! I coloured the wood veneer with a silver wink of stella pen to give it a more silvery effect.

And lastly, my title, which I cut out with my Silhouette I coloured/painted with watered down paste, so it has a pearly coloured sheen to it!

So, this is my match made in heaven page!

Rainbow Splendour Page

This week is my first "official" week of sharing over on the Rainbow Splendour Facebook page. I decided to mix a bit of old and new goodies on this page and also do a bit of altering to show you how you can jazz up something older to make it like new again!

I call this my "made in Australia" page, and my reasoning behind that is the page is full of Aussie goodies. From the obvious Rainbow Splendour embellishments, to the Cocoa Vanilla paper (and some extras), Flutterby Designs stencil and Colour Blast texture paste. It goes to show we have a thriving industry here that needs supporting!

So, here is the page:

Isn't the colour on that texture paste divine?! This colour is called "just blue" and there is a gorgeous pearly glimmer too.

Did you grab one of the cool little robot wood veneers in the last sale? He is so cute, I coloured his little heart in with stickles (worn lipstick if I remember the colour correctly!) I thought he was a good addition to this page with my boy when he was just a little tyke.

And check out the "older" polaroid frame. I jazzed it up by repetitive stamping using stayz-on ink. The stamping isn't perfect, but it does the job!

I will be back later in the week with another share. Thanks for stopping by.

Charms Creations Dec/Jan Challenge #2

Good Morning! Can you believe how quickly January is disappearing?! We only have two weeks left until the kid's are back at school and some sort of normal returns to the house. But while there is no routine and no need to be anywhere at any specific time (well mostly) I am taking time to sit at my desk and create.

If you are feeling the need to create you should check out the two challenges Charms Creations is running, these are Dec/Jan challenges, two challenges and two months to do them (well not two months any more!).

You might remember that I finished and blogged challenge #1 before Christmas, you can check it out here if you want another look.

The second challenge is another colour palette/image kind of challenge,

Aren't the colours pretty? Along with the colours I was really inspired by the word summer on the image, and that is where my page started!

So, I found a cool font a little like the one in the picture and I cut that out of my background cardstock and backed it with pretty papers that fitted the colour palette. I have to say I really love these colours together, they are so soft and pretty! Otherwise I kept the page pretty simple and fresh with a couple of clusters of embellishments around the photos. The photos I also edited to suit the softer colour palette!

I thought the pink map marker was a perfect addition to this page about the beach, and our annual camping trip with friends. A kind of "wish I was here" feel to it! And don't you just love the wood veneer clouds? These came from Rainbow Splendour and they are so cute!

I love this ombre style flair from D-lish Scraps, it is the perfect colour too for this page.

And a close up of the title. Not as intricate as in the image, but it fits for this page.

Well, that is all from me for now. Thanks for stopping by,

Scrapbooking Top 50 January Challenge

You may remember that I revealed that I am now creating for the Scrapbooking Top 50 challenge site, so that means another challenge to share with you.

This month is a nice and easy sketch, something to ease into the new year with! The sponsors this month are Rainbow Splendour and Burdy's Embellies and I just so happened to have some goodies from both of these awesome hand made embellishment business to use!

And this is what I came up with:

I am just loving the soft and pretty colours together. The papers are from an Amy Tangerine line (I think or perhaps Dear Lizzy). And that cool triangle stencil is a Basic Grey one.

Loving the glitter foam die cuts from Burdy's Embellies, and they come in all kinds of colours and shapes!

Some of the newest wood veneer from Rainbow Splendour.

I used some Colour Blast paste in sunshine and I was hoping this picture might show the pearly shimmer, but it doesn't quite do it justice! I can tell you though, this paste is awesome to work with, so buttery and easy to spread and such vivid colours. I have just ordered myself a few more to play with and I am sure that I will be ordering more sooner rather than later!

More wood veneer from Rainbow Splendour. This cute little rainbow I coloured in with gelatos, trying to look a little like kid's colouring with crayons, like my nieces in the photo!

Time for you to go and check out the sketch and the rest of the teams pages too!

Thanks for stopping by.

Kraft + January Challenge

Finally I get to reveal my first page as part of the Kraft+ team! Although, I must say we were thrown in the deep end with a very challenging challenge! Oh well! This month is about featuring your hand writing.

I had to mull this one over for a bit. Finally I decided that I needed to use my handwriting to create cut files with my Silhouette. I have done this before so no biggie, just needed to make it interesting. So I created an entire background with cut words (well actually a few words repeated), and I backed the words with gold text vellum and more kraft, so they were more subtle.

I also used some of the cut words as features on my page, including one which I coloured with a gold wink of stella pen to make my title.

For my journaling I stamped different journal spots and cut them out and lined my photo, and of course I had to write in pink!

I love that I have kraft photo corners to use too. The coloured paper wire helps to frame the photo and I have to blame the lovely Louise Nelson for introducing me to that product!

Have you been scared off this challenge?! I hope not, and I hope to see your page up there soon.

Scrap the Girls January 2016

Back again! Sharing Scrap the Girls January challenge now. This month we were lucky enough to be sponsored by Dark Room Door and we were all given some goodies to play with, and with January's challenge being a "free for all" we had free reign to create what we wanted! (But in case having too much freedom is a little scary there is a sketch you can use over on the blog!)

So, the goodies that I received were based on beautiful black and white images of flowers, so I decided to go with a black and white page with a bit of colour, this one features two of my nieces.

I decided to use some Cocoa Vanilla patterned paper as my background, and I misted a doily pattern in a couple of places using a silver mist, this helped tone it down just a little. But I do love this one colour popping through, which I also matched and used with liquid pearls on my floral paper.

I love collecting fonts! This is one that I actually purchased in a set and I love how it cut and it works so well with the text on the patterned paper too.

A bit of bling with some crystals and sequin bow, and I am still loving my motex writer!

The cut out word strips from Dark Room Door were great for adding extra little touches to the page too.

Make sure you stop by and check out the rest of the teams inspiration, and we all had different DDR goodies so all our pages are quite different!

Thanks for stopping by,

New Month, New Year, New Challenges!

Happy New Year! I hope you celebrated the new year just the way you wanted! I did, which meant normal time in bed and up the next morning as usual. We have discovered that our sleep routine is much more important than staying up to see the clock tick past midnight.

Along with a new year we have a new month and hence loads of new challenges. I have a few pages to share for some of the great challenges out there, but I won't overload you with them all in one post (not to mention confuse myself too, it doesn't take much these days!).

I am going to start with Scrap the Boys, as this is my last month on the creative team. It has been a great team to be on and I will continue to *try* and do the challenges. I am looking forward to seeing who will take over the reigns.

This month is an inspiration board with a great mix of colours, but not ones you might automatically reach for on a boys page.

And this is the page that I created:

I loved using some Flutterby Designs flair (perfect place for boy themed flair if you are looking!) and one of their cool stencils.

Still loving the DIY Charms Creations, this time an arrow with a splattering of purple. I misted some different greens on cardstock (actually a failed first attempt at an idea for this page!) and then drew my title and cut it out. White gel pen helps make it pop on the green background.

Here is a cloe up of that cool boy flair I was talking about, and you can see the pattern from the stencil too.

I hope you go and check out the rest of the team's inspiration and maybe have a go at this challenge too. You might just find you love these colours together just as I did!
