I can't believe it has been about six weeks since I last posted........ I know I am a bad bad girl for not getting on here and updating more often. I promise that I will try and do so more frequently from now on. Promise.....
OK, now that you have forgiven me for not updating more regularly I will fill you in on the past six weeks. To start with, April, there was my sisters birthday which involved a lovely Sunday afternoon to Wynnum and fish and chips by the sea. I also did some maternity photos of my lovely SIL Jenny who at that stage was in count down mode to birth of child #1. Here are some of the photos from that day.
This last one is one of my favourites from the day. We were at the end of the jetty at Pandanus Beach and over to the left was all these cranes and they looked so much like dinosaurs in the distance I just had to take a snap and see what I could do with it. So this photo is titled "Dinosaurs in the Distance".
So where are we up to, April, ok the end of April now. This involved being busy with the Scrapbook City retreat. This year there was an extra day with Anzac day so some lucky ladies were away for three nights! As usual we had a dress up dinner night and the theme was "Famous Movie Characters", so ypu can imagine some of the great characters we had for that one. There was a group from Star Wars, The Wizard of Oz, The Flying Nun, Sister Act amongst many more, Marilyn Munroe and Fred Flintsone were even there! But for the owners and staff of Scrapbook City that was a sight to be seen! I don't think I have ever laughed so long or so hard! We as a group were characters from the Austin Powers movies. Including Kerri as Austin Powers, Leisa as Dr Evil and us girls as the compulsory Go-Go dancers! So I am guessing you want to see some photos of that event!!
We hired the costumes so they were absolutely perfect! Us girls even all had knee-hi white boots on and wigs with beehives and all! I will dig up one of me by myself for another laugh!
Ok that pretty much wraps up April. Now into May.... Well probably the most exciting event was the arrival of my little niece Jasmine! My little brother is now a dad! So hard to wrap my head around that one! Little Jasmine is simply beautiful and she looked just like Erin did when she was born. That was a little spooky! I did think of swapping one of my "prepared earlier" children so I could have a newborn again, of only for a little while! OK, some photos of Jasmine.
And as for the rest of May.....we have booked ourselves a little getaway during the June/July holidays in Stanthorpe so we can have a cold winter experience! The kids are so looking forward to that, Andrew and I too for that matter! I have a girls weekend away coming in June with my old playgroup mums. Janelle is even trekking up from Bendigo for the fun. And we have the Scrapbooking Convention over the Queen's birthday long weekend to gear up for as well. So life never slows down and the year simply disappears while you do the usual routine.
Here are a couple of layouts that I have done recently too. I have been experimenting alot with glitter and flocking lately (alot of fun I must say!) and have used them in these pages. In fact I will be teaching flocking at Scrapbook City next term so if you are interested go over and have a look.
