Guest Designers for CSI

Good Morning, Charms Creations is a sponsor for CSI this month and we have had a play with some of the weekly case files. I have taken Case File #209 to have a play with and this is what I came up with:

Here is the case file:

And this is my page:

So, from the evidence list I have used:

Polka Dots
Stripes
Wood
Nautical Themed item
Fish

And for my journaling I have documented a childhood memory for my son and used the word "Explore".

Now isn't this wood veneer boat just the cutest little thing you have ever seen? It is part of the new things over at Rainbow Splendour. They are sold out as an individual purchase, but there are some in the kits that are still available! Check the sale out here.

Layering a with some more wood veneer and a flair from Studio 1440. It was just the perfect shade of red for this page!

I love me some Charms Creations diy banners! I coloured these ones using some of the new Colour Blast colour shimmer dust. It is very pretty and intense in colour and there is a nice shimmer to boot! I also coloured the fish using the shimmer dust too. The fish have been cut using my silhouette from a file I created myself.

So that is all from me for today, make sure you check out the other inspiring samples for this challenge on the blog and maybe have a go yourself!

Gust Designers at CSI

Charms Creations are sponsors and guest designers over at CSI which is a great challenge blog if you haven't ever given it a try. Each week (roughly) you are given a case file with criteria to meet/choose from and let me tell you it is not nearly as daunting as it might sound!

I chose to play along with Case File No. 196 which is still open until the end of the month. It looks like this:

And this is what I came up with:

So, the first thing that came to mind was having a gorgeous robot wood veneer from Rainbow Splendour! And I also remembered that I had some older photos from the Powerhouse museum where we found "Robot" from Lost In Space! That gave me an easy start to this page!

From the evidence I used: stripes, buttons, robot, cogs/gears and circles. And from the Testimony I chose to add buttons to my journal spot. Too easy!

I have added two Charms Creations goodies on this page, a brown heart which was a perfect colour match and I cut in half a blue (kind of the right colour!) circle and layered in each cluster.

Isn't the robot awesome?! The little rockets came with him too, they were easy to layer with the chipboard cogs.

Make sure you go and check out the other case files for April there is sure to be something that grabs your attention!

Another Guest Designer Page for CSI

We were given three Case Files for our guest designer stint over at CSI this month and I managed to complete two of them. Today I am going to share Case File #180 which went up just last week.

Here is the page that I created. One of my favourites too! I just loved the colours in the this one.

So, I managed to include: Leaves, Doilies, Scallop border, Book Page, Polka Dots and Watercolour.

This Charms Creation circle in book page made that an easy option!

And I got the theme of my page and title from the Carry on Tuesday blog. I thought attending the muscial "Wicked" was a kind of magic!

Guest Designer at CSI

Charms Creations were asked to be guest designers over at CSI this month and I have tackled two of their case files. One is yet to be revealed, but the other was Case File #179. Here is the file:

I loved the colours as soon as I saw this one, and decided to make my own patterned paper to match instead of searching through my stash to find something close. I ended up making two patterned and two plain papers. A stripey pattern and a flower pattern then a plain mint and plain orange. This is the page I finished with:

From the evidence list I included:

Stripes
Flowers
Pocket
Animals
Stamp
Washi - which I also used like a ribbon!

I also found the perfect Charms Creation to match this challenge, no colouring needed! I do love this soft peach heart.

For the Testimony I included my journaling in a pocket and I was documenting a childhood photo.

This was the first time that I had a go at a CSI challenge and I think I will be back for more! If you haven't had a go I encourage you to have a look and maybe play along too.

Thanks for stopping by.
