Here is another reasonably new page created using lots of the pretties from the most recent girly kit from Rainbow Splendour. I am especially in love with the oragami wood veneer butterflies!
From the kit I have used: Pretty pin (well the pretty triangle circle that was on the pin that I accidentally pulled off...don't ask...), felt bow, wood veneer butterflies, glitter die cut star and epoxy circle.
I also added this pretty purple Charms Creations heart. It layered beautifully with the butterfly and phrase sticker.
I think this epoxy is one of my all time favourites from the RS kits! I just love the yellow against the pinks and purples.
For my background I used some minc reactive paint through a stencil and then foiled with purple and hot pink. The foil adds some texture, colour and interest to the background without any bulk!
That's it from me for now. Thanks for stopping by,

It has been a while...
So, one could say that the year kind of got away from me there! The last few months were a blur of assignments, exams, kindy photos, primary school graduation, birthdays and finally Christmas. But now, I have some time to rest and even catch up a little on what I have been doing. I didn't manage much scrapping in that time either, but I am trying to make up for that now. I think I have pulled off five pages in two days! Yay me!
Today I am going to share a new page (hopefully I will get caught up on what I haven't shared later...) created for the Show Us Your Stuff blog, which is being sponsored by Rainbow Splendour. This month is a sketch, which is perfect for the busy month of December. I even decided to do a holidays themed page, and I used the December Hip Kit for most of my bits and pieces. I have been loving their kits and decided to order a few this year as a treat for myself. I am not ready to subscribe just yet, but maybe down the track that will happen...
So here is the sketch:
And here is my page:
Lots of handmade goodies on my page, and I had great fun creating a non-traditional Christmas themed page using pretty colours.
Here is my Charms Creations Star paired with half a vellum bow from Rainbow Splendour.
This little cluster has a button and silver glitter star from Burdy's Embellies (one of her gorgeous kits).
A pretty pin with a pretty wood veneer star from Rainbow Splendour, and the cute little silver stars are from the same Burdy's Embellies kit that I mentioned earlier.
And this cute star paperclip was also in the kit from Burdy's Embellies.
So, I managed to sneak this one in just before the end of the month, maybe I will go and see if I can squeeze another challenge in before the month ends!
Thanks for stopping by,

The Block - SBT50 Style
Have you been following the Scrapbook Top 50 "The Block" challenges? Look for the group on Facebook if you haven't, it is a lot of fun, and we are in to the second week with plenty more to come. Each week you are given rooms (2 to choose from) to inspire you or with things you need to include, today I am going to share with you the page that I made for the first week, "bedroom week". This was the inspiration:
Lots to be inspired about in this photo and the colour scheme is simply gorgeous. This is the page that ended up with, and it was all about the colours paired with the crisp white.
I have included goodies from some a couple of our sponsors on the page too. There are Burdy's Embellies and a Charms Creations too.
This Charms Creations pastel hessian heart was the perfect colour match for this page, and I just love layering with these, adding word strips, flair and die-cuts underneath.
Isn't this bookpaper heart button cute?! It is a special design from Burdy's Embellies. See the little wood veneer flower on top? That was coloured using gelatos, just smudged into the wood, it is my new favourite way to colour wood veneer.
I really love how these colours look against the crisp white, such a fun challenge! Maybe we will see you join in too?!
Thanks for stopping by,

This next bit is a special for my good friend's little girl Katy....
Hi Katy,
I am not sure that I have the original choc chip cookie recipe that your mum remembers, but this is the one I use now that my kid's love and everyone who tries it loves too! The trick is to use more choc chips than what the recipe says! (I love chocolate!!)
Choc Chip Cookies
125g softened butter
1/2 cup raw sugar
1/3 cup + 2 tespoons soft brown sugar firmly packed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla (although I am known not to measure this and up to 1 teaspoon is OK)
1 large egg
2/3 cup self raising flour
1 cup plain flour
1 cup of choc chips (I usually add 1 1/2 - 2 cups, I get the buttons and break them into smaller chunks and also do a mix of dark, milk and white chocolate)
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line a baking tray with baking paper. (You will probably need two trays for baking)
Cream the butter and sugars until light in colour and the sugar has dissolved, add the vanilla and egg and mix well.
Using a wooden spoon slowly add the flours mixing well to form a dough.
Add the choc chips and blend through the dough.
Put spoons full of the mix onto a tray leaving some room for them to expand (just how big or small you make them is up to you!)
Bake for about 10 - 12 minutes (this may vary a little depending on the size of the cookie and how dark you like the colour, I like mine lighter and a little chewy so this timing is usually pretty good).
Make sure you get mum to take a photo of you with your cookies when you make them to send to me!
Lots of love, big Katie xxx

D-lish Scraps Birthday Celebrations
D-lish Scraps celebrate their 7th birthday last weekend coinciding with their monthly cyber crop and some extra fun challenges. One of these was a blind scrap, now I didn't get to do this in real time (assignment work to be done!) but I did sit down later when I had some time to spare and had a go. Well it was one of the fastest pages that I have ever completed! So now I am sharing my page here:
Of course I added some of my favourite D-lish goodies (can you spy the journal spots, beautiful doily, puffy stickers, enamel stickers and wood veneer title?!). To this I have added some of my other favourite goodies, Charms Creations and Rainbow Splendour.
I just love this little emoticon wood veneer from Rainbow Splendour. And this teal chevron from Charms Creations, well it's teal so it is fabulous!
I took my wood veneer title and rubbed some gelato over it to give it colour. It is a great way to add a nice smooth colour to wood veneer.
And this wood veneer is from Rainbow Splendour, also coloured with gelatos. Did you spy the touches of foil around the page too?!
Just a quick share today.
Thanks for dropping by,
Katie x

Scrapbooking Top 50 August Challenge
Have you checked out the Scrapbooking Top 50 challenge for August yet? It is a great inspiration photo...
I was inspired by the butterflies and music and also the rainbow of colours, so I new I had to get out my colourful supplies!
This is what I came up with:
I had a great music stencil and I used this with a rainbow selection of Colour Blast pastes to create my background. I love how it turned out, such vibrant colours with texture to boot!
These pretty little butterflies were created by using dylusion sprays on a piece of card and kind of randomly spraying them in the rainbow order and then punching out the butterflies when it was dry. To finish off some of the butterflies I used my decco foil glue pen to add some gold foil to the tips. I think that the glue pen is my new favourite toy!
I also added some gold foil to a Charms Creations music paper star, some wood veneer music notes and I used the pen to write the word "Laughter" which I foiled and cut out for part of the title! You have to love a "little" gold on your page :)
So if you haven't had a go at this challenge maybe you should! It is such a fun inspiration picture.

Rainbow Splendour Fun
Good Morning!
I am popping today to share a page that I created playing with my pretty new Rainbow Splendour goodies! There was recently a new release and there are still a few goodies over on the blog if you haven't checked it out yet!
One of the things that I was pretty pleased with (even if I do say so myself!) was some cut files that I designed to go with each of the kits. Here is a sneak photo of the cut files for the girly kit:
I decided to take the open flower shape and create a background with it and use this as the basis for my page. And this is what I finished with...
I have been admiring for ages the fabulous pages others had been making by backing cut outs with patterned paper and I really wanted to give it a go, and this is how it turned out. I learned too that there are easy and hard ways for tracing shapes to cut out to back each flower! I used quite a few bits and pieces from the kit to help finish off my page too. Can you spot them?
I love the new wood veneer flowers, I foiled mine with gold to give them some shine. To do this I used my decco foil glue pen and some Heidi Swapp gold foil. Just cover the wood veneer with the glue and burnish the foil once it has dried (no need for heating with a laminator or minc!!!). Sometimes the glue gets sucked into the wood, so you may need to do this a few times, and even then it may not be perfect, but is still finishes up looking pretty cool.
The larger wood veneer with gold foil, you can see that not all of it is covered, but it still looks fine!
And here I have my little embellishment cluster with some other favourites. A Charms Creations heart, a pretty vellum bow, some glitter leaves and a D-lish Scraps journal spot. the little heart on top is from one of the cloud wood veneers (also from Rainbow Splendour) and it is foiled too.
So a relatively simple layout, but with lots of details. Loving how it turned out!

Guest Designers for CSI
Good Morning, Charms Creations is a sponsor for CSI this month and we have had a play with some of the weekly case files. I have taken Case File #209 to have a play with and this is what I came up with:
Here is the case file:
And this is my page:
So, from the evidence list I have used:
Polka Dots
Stripes
Wood
Nautical Themed item
Fish
And for my journaling I have documented a childhood memory for my son and used the word "Explore".
Now isn't this wood veneer boat just the cutest little thing you have ever seen? It is part of the new things over at Rainbow Splendour. They are sold out as an individual purchase, but there are some in the kits that are still available! Check the sale out here.
Layering a with some more wood veneer and a flair from Studio 1440. It was just the perfect shade of red for this page!
I love me some Charms Creations diy banners! I coloured these ones using some of the new Colour Blast colour shimmer dust. It is very pretty and intense in colour and there is a nice shimmer to boot! I also coloured the fish using the shimmer dust too. The fish have been cut using my silhouette from a file I created myself.
So that is all from me for today, make sure you check out the other inspiring samples for this challenge on the blog and maybe have a go yourself!

August Kraft+ Share
Good Morning! Can you believe that it is August already, and right on cue the August winds have begun for us in Brissy!
This morning I am going to share my sample page for the new Kraft+ challenge, and this one was a interesting for many of us....
This month is all about tassels! Now I must say, that I don't mind tassels, but never really thought about adding them to my pages before, so this did prove a little bit challenging. But what is life without a few challenges!
Don't you just love the background kraft that I have found?! This came from a pack by Papermania (Docrafts) and is full of patterned and foiled kraft cardstock, yes card rather than paper! It is awesome. This one has some gold foiled triangles among the triangles, so pretty. I just love this photo too. It was taken by my Liam when we were at a family gathering. Sometimes I let him play with my camera to keep him entertained (cause the gatherings are always so boring you know!), and I end up with some fabulous shots.
So I worked my tassels into a banner, that I have nestled into a little cluster featuring one of the bright hessian hearts from Charms Creations. I think these might be one of my favourites at the moment. There is also a vellum bow from Rainbow Splendour, these are just so versatile! Oh and there is a sale coming up soon for Rainbow Splendour and the new kits are fabulous!
This cute speech bubble wood veneer is also from Rainbow Splendour, these are just the perfect size to add to your photo without taking up too much space. You can also see the gold foiling on the edges of the patterned paper in this shot too. I used a foil adhesive pen and HS gold foil to add these touches. Loving adding foiling where ever I want to in this way! You don't even need to use a Minc or laminator with this method.
So, that is my page. Make sure you head over to the blog and check out all the other amazing tassel ideas from the team. You can find the blog here.

Rainbow Splendour Sketch
Good Morning! Did you pick yourself up one (or both?!) of the fabulous Rainbow Splendour kits last release? If you did, have you had a go at the sketch challenge too? I decided to use the gorgeous Chatterbox kit and the sketch and had so much fun.
And this is the page that I created:
There was so much in the kit to play with, and I included a lot on my page, but I still have plenty left over for another project (or two!). I have used the glitter frame, 4x3 embossed card, epoxy stickers, wood veneer, felt bow and pretty pin. Can you spot them all?! I even have some of the cut aparts tucked into layers as well. I finally also had a play with some art screens to create my silver spotty background, I am looking forward to playing some more with these!
I love a pretty embellishment cluster and the felt bow and epoxy sticker are perfect to include.
Lots of pretty layers going on, and I just had to use a Dear Lizzy collection to scrap these photos!
Adding a DIY Charms Creations banner to this last embellishment cluster helped finish off the page. To colour I simply "smoodged" some distress ink (tumbled glass I think) onto my craft mat, sprayed with water and swiped my banner through to pick up the colour. You can even go back with your foam applicator and darken the edges a bit for some depth.
So, that is my page, have you done yours yet?! Oh and check out the link above if you are interested in subscribing to the Rainbow Splendour kits!

Guest Designer at 1,2,3 Challenge
I am a guest designer over at the 1,2,3 Challenge blog this month! They have a great challenge if you need some inspiration to kick start your creativity. This month the prompts are:
I even managed to make a pretty pastel boy page! Here is what I created with the prompts:
I used lots of pretty Cocoa Vanilla papers and a few die cuts too. Throw in a D-lish Scraps flair and a Charms Creations pretty pastel heart and the page just about did itself! For the glitter aspect I added two versions, firstly with a little tiny heart stencil and some glitter texture paste on the background and then using silver glitter washi and hand cutting some cute little hearts.
I am loving these pretty doilies from D-lish Scraps too, they are so delicate!
A bit pf peachy pink thread helps add a bit of texture behind the cluster.
And really, the flair says it all! These photos of my boy make me laugh!
Thanks for stopping by and check out the 1,2,3 Challenge blog to see more great pages with these prompts.

Scrap the Boys Share
Good Afternoon! I have been on uni break for just over two weeks now and the time is flying, I wish it would slow down just a little. But, on a positive I have managed to do some scrapping. Today I am sharing the page that I have created for the July Scrap the Boys challenge, which is to be inspired by the following image:
When I saw the challenge I knew that I had the perfect photos to use, and since Charms Creations is a sponsor I knew that I had to include at least one of those too. I started with making a background in sandy and sea colours and then started adding things on top!
I kept the colours pretty much to the blues and teals and threw in some ochre yellow. I even found an acetate cloud in the perfect teal to go with my grouping of clouds!
In my grouping of clouds is a silver glitter Charms Creations cloud, a Rainbow Splendour wood veneer cloud and the acetate cloud, a great mix of colour size and texture!
The other perfect add was the sandstone heart also from Charms Creations. it is a perfect neutral if you need something subtle, but in my case I thought it was a perfect match for the colours in the rocks that my boy is sitting on.
So that is it, my Scrap the Boys page. I hope you have a go and maybe you might be a lucky winner of some gorgeous Charms goodies!
